Aldouran Wetland Garden is located in the village of Leswalt, 3 miles from Stranraer on the A718.
Literally meaning “Glen of the otter”, Aldouran has been created by the community of Leswalt and is still maintained, as a registered charity, by a dedicated group of volunteers drawn from all age groups of the local community.
The Garden leads into the Aldouran Glen Wood which is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust Scotland and is one of only a handful of “ancient semi-natural woods” remaining on the Rhins peninsular of Galloway. Discover a superb circular woodland walk, starting and finishing in Leswalt.
We hope you will browse our site and discover what the Wetland has to offer all age groups. You will be more than welcome to visit and share in this beautiful, tranquil and interesting garden.
An excellent holiday activity for all the family – admission is free, although voluntary donations in the box at the gate will be greatly appreciated and will significantly help in our ongoing development and maintenance of Aldouran Wetland Garden.
Why not visit us and explore the Community Garden, the Aldouran Wetland, or do the Glen Walk
